The old order passed away, behold I do a new thing…

isaiah-65_17A new face on the Earth

It was like a dream when the Jews were released from captivity. Instead of affliction, trouble, and pain, they had peace. It was a new world for the people of Israel, something that made them forget the burden and disappointment of the past.

A new Heaven and new Earth

God has promised a new Heaven and a new Earth where people will be free. Free from the enslavement of the past, a time in history they would remember no more. It will be a new face on the world: Jesus Christ. He will raise up a new church and institute a new worship. (John 4:21).

A New Church

The Samaritans had developed their own form of worship. They built their own temple on Mount Gerzim, a site they chose for themselves, without God’s instruction or direction. The instruction of God is based on divine revelation. It will not be like the worship of the Samaritans or the Jews, who relied upon rituals or ceremonies or even the Jews who had the shadow and pattern of Christ through their high priest (Heb.9:6-10).

The true worshippers of God, under the clear revelation of the Holy Spirit, through the revealed Word, will worship God in Spirit and in truth (John 4:24, Phil.3:3).

A New Worship

Before Pentecost, the out-pouring of the Holy Spirit was always temporal, for special purposes e.g. (Num.11:26, 1 Sam. 10:6, 10). Through Christ, the Spirit is poured out without measure. In the new Heavens and Earth, nothing but righteousness shall reign (2 Peter 3:13, Rev.21:1).

According to His promise, the new Heaven and a new Earth will be free from everything that defiles.

Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the old heaven and the old earth had disappeared.” – Revelation 21:1

ABSOLUTE

week41His promises are absolute

“Happy are those whose greatest desire is to do what God requires;
God will satisfy them fully!” – Matthew 5:6

You can only live by grace if you believe in Jesus Christ. You can pray for the grace to do what He requires. You can pray with confidence when you know you are praying according to His will, plan and purpose.

To be led by HIS SPIRIT:

He desires to give you what He has promised. He is a good Father, He does not tell lies. He will lead you to pray “according to His will,” by His Spirit. Hold steadfast to the promises of God.

– Luke 11:13

He desires to give you what He has promised. He is a good Father, He does not tell lies. He will lead you to pray “according to His will,” by His Spirit. Hold steadfast to the promises of God.

If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!” – Luke 11:13

To be in Honour and not know it…

psalm49_20scriptThe afflicted believer and the wealthy sinner

It is possible to go through this world and exit having achieved nothing. A person may have all the wealth of the world, live a self-serving life of covetousness, yet in reality, is like a beast that perishes. Once it is gone, it is forgotten. The soul of a man however, doesn’t go into oblivion, the soul lives on and will one day face the final judgement.

To be in honour and not know it

A man or woman in honour understands his or her purpose. Everything he or she lives for points towards Christ. They have a hope and great expectation of a greater glory to come. They are clothed in royal robes of righteousness, they are draped in honour.

The believer in Christ is never to envy the sinner who lives for the gratification of the flesh and the indulgence of this world. The believer lives for the honour and glory of God. He or she understands they have dominion over worldliness. They belong to a family of believers, they are co-heirs with Christ, the sons and daughters of the Living God, whose worth is far greater than mere silver and gold.

The cry of the heart

galatians4_6scriptThere is a cry in the heart that can only be filled by the Spirit of God.

The Apostle Paul confirmed that the Gentiles were also the “sons of God.” The Spirit of God had been sent into their hearts. The Israelites were the first people to be called the first born in Exodus 4:6. So many of them believed and received the the Spirit (Ezekiel 36:27). The full outpouring and outflow of the Holy Spirit did not come until Christ was glorified (John 7:39; 16;7).

Just like on the day of Pentecost, the Spirit moves today, it has not departed. The Spirit manifests itself in the “sons of God.” They have a variety of spiritual gifts. In boldness they cry ABBA FATHER. A people who were once strangers to God, have been adopted into a family and are now privileged to be called The Sons of God, They have been redeemed by Christ and call Him FATHER FATHER.

Timelessness

revelation1_42Timelessness: “Who is and Who was and Who is to come.” Rev.1:4 (Part 3)

Who is this God who supplies us with Grace and peace? He is the God who is, who was and who is to come.

  • He is the source of Grace and peace to us

  • He is eternal, He is everlasting and unchanging

  • He is constantly intervening and shifting the immoveable.

Seven Spirits:

It goes without saying, there are some doors in Revelation that appear to have no keys…

The “Seven Spirits” mentioned in Rev.1:4 could mean a number of things. Just like the Seven Churches represent The Church as a whole (read part 1), the Seven Spirits may represent the nature of God, the Spirit in Isaiah11:2 is described in seven aspects:

The Spirit of the Lord,

The Spirit of wisdom,

The Spirit of understanding,

The Spirit of counsel,

The Spirit of might,

The Spirit of knowledge and

The Spirit of the fear of the Lord.

It could also represent the Spirit of God present in each of the Seven Churches (Rev.5:6).

We need the Spirit of God in every aspect of our lives. We need the Spirit of the Lord. We need His Wisdom and insight so that we know the right way to go and the right things to do. We need His understanding, He gives us the ability to see beyond the natural, He gives divine understanding. He sees things as they really are, and not how they appear to be. Before Him all things are open and manifest. He is the wonderful counsellor. The Spirit who can give guidance, counsel, understanding and direction through every generation. He is a God of power who gives strength in place of weakness. He is a mighty deliverer, who delivers His children in times of trouble. We need the Spirit of God to enable and equip us. He is the Spirit of Knowledge, He unveils Jesus Christ to us, without Him, we cannot know Christ. The Spirit of the fear of the Lord promotes within us the right attitude and reverence towards God.

We need the Spirit of God to be God’s people in the ever changing difficulties of life.

His Throne:

The Holy Spirit is always in the presence of God. The sovereign decrees of the Father are carried out by Him.

Sinful versus godly

Portrait posters 15

“That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. “ John 3:6

Who are the children of God?

To be carnally minded is to set your mind on the things of the flesh. To be spiritually minded is to set your mind on the things of the Spirit. The flesh is attached to the things of the earth:worldliness, but a regenerated spirit pursues godliness. A heart is either selfish or godly. . A regenerated mind is an elevated mind. It is a mind renewed by Christ.

Understanding
The carnal mind does not receive the things of the Spirit of God. It’s all foolishness to him (1 Corinthians 2:14). The person who is in the spirit, or spiritual, knows and approves the will of God. They have the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of God (Ephesians 1:17).The eyes of their understanding being enlightened (Ephesians 1:18).

The carnal mind is subject to the will of the flesh. The evil on this earth is a product of the carnal mind. The spiritual mind has a conscience purged of dead works. It is a mind ready to be used by the Living God. You are either controlled by your sinful nature or the Spirit of God.
The children of God are those who are led by the Spirit of God.

A NEW LIFE

Ephesians 41724

The moment you have been justified, the process of sanctification begins. This process of transformation changes you from the old person you used to be, into the NEW MAN. Sanctification transforms the broken image in Adam into the image of Jesus Christ. The old life and old life-style is replaced with the new. Behold the old life has passed away:

“This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!” 2 Corinthians 5:17

Justification frees you from the guilt and condemnation of your old life and what it used to be. It is a once and for all declaration that you belong to Jesus. Though a person is justified, they will still battle with sin. Sin has power, but God has not left us to tackle it on our own. He has given us the Holy Spirit to lead us through the process of sanctification. It is a process to which we must cooperate and be fully involved. New Testament teaching shows us that the sanctification process goes on for the rest of our lives.

It is possible for a person who is justified to reject the sanctification process. This person will refuse to change from their sinful ways, old habits and old nature. There is a higher place and a higher call that can only be attained through the process of sanctification… It is a work of the Spirit in willing vessel. It is Christ who draws us onwards and upwards over cliffs and mountains which the believer would never be able to climb on their own.

“from the end of the earth I call to you when my heart is faint. Lead me to the rock that is higher than I” Psalm 61:2

There are rocks, hills and mountains the believer will encounter along the journey to the pearly gates of Heaven. These boulders, highlands and peaks were never meant to be climbed alone. Christ has not left His children here, on earth, as pilgrims without hope. The believer is not hope-less. Every pilgrim in Christ is a pilgrim with a mission and a mandate.

To all who are in Christ, celebrate a changed life, celebrate the NEW LIFE!
