The immeasurable importance of Faith

weekly post 2

Jesus taught an inestimable lesson on faith in (Mark 11: 22:24).
Faith commissions and gives us the power to overcome the impossible. What is perceived to be difficult to overcome: even as enormous as a mountain, is removed by faith. Jesus used the symbol of a mountain to show that what ever we pray for, regardless of how impossible it seems, is possible through prayer. Prayer that represents sin will not be answered. Some prayers clearly go against God’s will and plan for our lives and destiny. The prayer that goes in accordance to God’s plan and purpose will be answered. These are prayers that can be said with confidence, boldness and assurance . James 1:6 says we should ask in faith without wavering. Without doubt, the promises of God shall come to pass.

There is nothing too big that true faith cannot obtain. What has God promised you? Lean upon God’s Word and shower it with prayers. Be ready to forgive and let go of anything that will hinder your prayers today (Mark 11:26). Prayers from a forgiving heart will be heard by God (Matt.6:12).

weekly post 1When you understand God’s Grace you will receive freely what God has for you in the year 2016. You do not have to work for it. He is exceedingly rich in mercy and kindness towards us. He loves us. This love: unsought and undesired has been given freely to undeserving sinners. Nobody deserves God’s love, but He gives it freely. The mercy and kindness He displays to undeserving sinners can never be earned. Nobody deserves it. Mercy is not receiving what you deserve. Grace is receiving what you don’t deserve. God gives both freely.

If you believe in Jesus Christ today it is not something you attained by yourself. While you were dead in trespasses and sins, His Grace met you and caused you to believe. This removes all forms of boasting from the mouths of believers. Anyone in Christ has found themselves there by the grace of God. The condition of every human before Christ is: “dead in trespasses and sins” (Eph.2;1). Salvation is all about who God is, it is nothing about who we are.

Ephesians 2:4 – 10  But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. 10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

Receive freely from the hand of the Lord today. He is rich in kindness, mercy, grace and compassion. Let no one deny you of what God has given you freely. Claim what is yours. Jesus Christ purchased it for you on the Cross of Calvary. He loves you and He died for you. He wants you to live in the abundance of what He has already purchased for you.

Confidence in the promises of God

weekly post 23

Anyone who believes in Jesus must be confident that He answers prayers. Trust in His Word. God will not turn back on His promises. He will not revoke them. Sometimes believers feel that the answer to prayer is dependent on themselves. The answer to prayer is dependent upon the One who has the power to answers prayers.

Believe and do not doubt.

The believer must believe and not doubt the ability of God. He is more than able. Remember the child of God approaches the Father, not in their own name, but in the name of His precious Son “Christ Jesus our Lord.”(Ephesians 3:11). Paul talks about having access to God in boldness and confidence (Ephesians 3:12). Our faith in Jesus Christ gives us this privilege. Every believer in Jesus Christ is privileged. He or she comes boldly before the throne of Grace. There is no comparison to it. Faith is the state of believing. God answers prayers.

No wavering
The believer must not dispute what God has promised to do. God answers prayers. Doubtful thoughts can creep in when a promise is delayed. In Acts 10:19-20 while Peter stood reflecting, trying to understand the vision he had seen, the Spirit of the Lord encouraged Peter not to doubt. The Spirit of the Lord removed Peter’s fears. “Arise, go with them, doubting nothing…” Matthew 21:21 uses the symbol of a mighty mountain. The child of God can even speak to a mountain and “it will be removed and cast into the sea.”

Doubting Thomas
Everyone knows what it means when a person is referred to as a “Doubting Thomas.” Just for the sake of any reader who may have never come across this term (It refers to the disciple Thomas in John 20:24-29. People refer to him as doubting Thomas because he insisted on Physical proof of Jesus Christ’s resurrection.

The believer is human, just like Doubting Thomas, but James 1:6 encourages us not to doubt and be like a wave tossed back and forth. The wave of the sea does not rest, it goes back and forth and back and forth again and again. A doubter is just like this sea. Compare this to the person who lies down beside still waters in Psalm 23:2. This person rests in God.

Let every one who believes in Jesus Christ settle their hearts and stand in faith upon the promises of God. Be careful and be anxious for nothing (Philippians 4:6-8). God answers prayers. He performs dumb-founding miracles, even today, Amen.

weekly post 16Have you ever eaten stupendously only to still feel hungry at the end of it all?

Jesus Christ is the physician of the soul: He supplies all our spiritual needs. He is our Mediator, Redeemer and Priest. He fills empty souls from a supply that never runs dry. He is life itself: The Bread of Life.

There is beauty in the name: “Bread of Life.” Bread is eaten all over the world, it is universal and can be found on most break-fast tables. People abstain from meat, others vegetables, but Bread is generally eaten by all. Jesus is Bread that is available to all.

Bread is something that can be eaten daily, while most other foods are only eaten occasionally. There is a never a day on this earth that we do not need His blood. We can not live without His righteousness. He intercedes for us daily and covers us with His Grace.

It is only Jesus Christ that can relieve the spiritual hunger of the believer. There is no other name that can satisfy. You could search the whole world for the kind of bread that will never satisfy… Only Jesus can fill an empty conscience and feed a starving soul. This is His business and office.

Many have filled themselves with all sorts of food this Christmas but do not realise they are still hungry. Are you hungry and thirsty today? Come straight to Jesus and eat to your satisfaction. Drink from the well that never runs dry. Jesus is saying to you this today:

“I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst. “

Be filled today, be filled with the “Bread of Life.” It’s a token of His grace.
Celebrate the goodness and greatness of God today. Rejoice and again I say, Rejoice! 26th December 2016

Such Amazing LOVE!

10A priceless gift of Love has been given to this world. This gift, sent from Heaven, has been given to “whosoever believes.” (John 3:16). This “whosoever believes” may be Jew or Gentile, it is salvation offered freely. It is amazing that God should love a wicked world, it’s such amazing love. It’s a wonderful free gift and it should be celebrated!

Such marvellous love is expressed through Christ’s death on the Cross. The mercy of God is demonstrated in the Sun rising, unfailingly, every morning. His mercies are new, each day and this mercy is out of His free sovereign good pleasure. From the depth of His goodness he has chosen heirs of God and joint-heirs with Christ. This mercy is not confined or constrained to the elect. He has a special electing love for His children, yet still shows mercy and compassion to the whole of mankind. The pity and compassion of God for this world extends to all. It is shown in Matthew 5:45, “He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.” His love is such that no one can accuse Him of injustice in judgement and in judging the world. He is a righteous judge (Ezekiel 33:11, John 1:10, John 4:10, John 6:32, John 6:51, 2 Peter 3:9, 1 Tim. 2:4).

The goodness and mercies of God extends to this world (John 3:16).He loved this world so much that He sent His only begotten glorious Son to save it. That those who believe in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. This everlasting life has been given to those who come to Him by Faith. Those who come to Him in repentance, through Faith Jesus Christ shall have everlasting life.

Jesus Christ came into this world as a consequence or reaction of His Love. Jesus is the precious gift to a world full of sin. Nobody will have an excuse on the last day. It is the day that everyone will stand before a righteous judge (2 Peter 3:9). He is the Saviour, the Redeemer and the Friend of sinners (Matthew 11:16-19, John 8:1-11) and this redemption has its source in the free and sovereign love of God.

A sufficient atonement has been made for all (Romans 4:25, 8:32). Jesus was despised, rejected, mocked, crucified, and counted guilty for the  offences of all. This love is so unique. “But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.” – Romans 5:8. Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else? – Romans 8:32
Truly God is Love!
The Love of God is pure and undefiled. Tell someone about His Love today.

The best gift ever!

13Christians and people from all religious backgrounds celebrate Christmas. It is a global event the whole world recognises. With only two days to Christmas, most people have already bought gifts for their loved ones. Many people are already on holiday, it is the season to spend time with friends and family.

Lots of celebrations take place over the month of December. The whole world makes merry and  celebrates.  Most people just celebrate because the world celebrates… It is just a yearly celebration for them.   Some countries have officially replaced the term “Christmas” with other names, knowing everyone celebrates it, but not wanting to associate the celebration with Christ.

The greatest gift anyone can receive this Christmas is the gift of Jesus Christ. To know and understand that Jesus Christ humbled himself to reconcile man to Himself:  is to be received with joy and gladness…  It is to be celebrated.   Jesus dwelt among us as “Immanuel.”  “He gave up his divine privileges; he took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being.” (Philippians 2:7)  He came to us and was “God with us.”

Receiving Jesus Christ, is the greatest gift of all. It is a free gift.  A gift that cannot be purchased with silver and gold. He is the Joy of the earth. There is no language that can praise Jesus enough, there are no words that can completely describe Him. He is Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, and Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6).   He is so much more than we know.  He existed before time began. The Messiah, The Mediator, The Saviour. He has paid the price for sin. He has given the gift of eternal life.

Thanks be to God for this indescribable gift (2 Corinthians 9:15). Merry Christmas!

Day 23 “Behold Emmanuel”

#GihonPublishing #JesusChrist #Blessings #Gifts #Shopping #Messiah #Mediator #PrinceofPeace #Yokebreaker #Penalty #Sin #Costlypriceforsin #JesusChrist #Christmas

It’s 2 days until Christmas. 23rd December, 2015.

Celebrate “The everlasting King” this Christmas.

“The Lord God shall give Him the throne of his father David.”
Jesus Christ’s title to the throne of David establishes Him as the Messiah. He was the long awaited seed of Abraham, spoken about in the covenant promise of Genesis 22:18. God spoke about Him in his message to King David in 2 Samuel 7.

Jesus has been given all power, both in Heaven and Earth. He has been given all authority to execute judgement. The establishment of an eternal Kingdom can be applied to none other than the highly exalted one, Jesus Christ. King David and King Solomon were given kingdoms that eventually came to an end.

Christ is a more excellent King. He came to earth to save sinners and He shall reign for ever. Of His kingdom, there shall be no end. The Kingdom of Christ is distinguished from every Kingdom of this world.

We can be confident of this: until Christ returns, the gospel shall be preached. The Church will continue to march on in strength and power. Let the name of Jesus be exalted in all the earth. He reigns forever.

Day 22 “Behold Emmanuel”

#GihonPublishing #JesusChrist #Blessings #Gifts#Shopping
It’s 3 days until Christmas. 22nd December, 2015.

This little light will SHINE!!!

14God is light and in Him is no darkness at all.” 1John 1:5

He dwells in unapproachable light. 1Tim 6:16

He dwells in inaccessible light and inconceivable glory. As all creatures derive their perfections from God. All wisdom, reason, happiness and holiness come from the light of God. Thought patterns that represent light are from God. Every believer should be a child of light Luke 16:8. The believer should bring light into this world and not darkness! The star that brought the wise men to Christ was provided by our Heavenly Father. He is the Father lights. Any thought pattern that represents any thing good is like a star in the sky. It shines before the Father of lights. The believer has light within him or her that shines brightly before God in Heaven. The people of the earth who see your good work should glorify your God in Heaven. The light that shines within you is not for man. It has been placed there to bring glory and honour to God. This is why no man can put out light that has been ignited by God. No matter how hard they try, they won’t succeed.

Unless the Lord fills a heart with light it will be full of darkness. The believer who basks in God’s presence will be filled with grace, knowledge and comfort that only comes from knowing Him. They will shine ever brightly.

Matthew 5:16

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. A candle light that shines purely and brightly shines in such glory because of God.

Pray today that God will shine upon your soul and ignite your life with His fire. Arise and shine today, for your light is come. May the glory of the Lord rise upon you. Isaiah 60:1

Hallelujah! Rejoice, Rejoice, Rejoice!!!

Rejoice, I repeat REJOICE!!!

philippinansThe believer in Christ must always rejoice.

Jesus Christ has given the believer every cause to be content, happy and glad. Christian joy is independent of external circumstances. The believers joy is not like a candle that blows out with the slightest blow of wind. The flame of a candle will only be steady in an unperturbed environment. Each day on this earth brings different challenges. One day brings sunshine, another day brings rain. The believers joy will be as changeable as the weather if it is dependent on looking outside the window.

Internal joy in the heart of a believer is constant when it flows from an unending source. This is the kind of source that never runs dry. This candle never blows out. It is firmly anchored in Jesus. It shines brightly from a never ending source of Joy. This oil of joy does not depreciate with each passing day. It appreciates, shining brightly into each new day.

Philippians 4:4 is a daily reminder to every believer in Jesus Christ. The Lord is with you always. He is the Godman with you. He does not grow weary neither does He grow tired . He is not a fair-weather friend who will only show up when the good times roll. Good seasons will attract seasonal friends (Proverbs 19:4). Emmanuel is consistent in all His ways. He will be you at all times, through the good times and the bad. In weddings, in funerals, at naming ceremonies and during funerals. You can be sure  He will be there.

Everyone in Christ can be sure of this: Emmanuel is with you always (Matt. 1:23). Rejoice because you are one with Him and the fruit of His Spirit is joy (Gal. 5:22). Your past has been forgiven, you have a bright future with Jesus. Even unfavourable circumstances work out for good when you are in Christ (Romans 8:28).You can go ahead and be who God has called you to be. You can do all He has called you to do. He has already gone ahead of you to make every crooked way straight. Be confident. Rejoice and again I say, rejoice. At all times you have access to the throne of Grace. He is with you ALWAYS even until the end if time. Hallelujah!!!

Hallelujah!!! Emmanuel is with us!!! Salvation is come!!! Hosannah in the Highest!!!
