Lord, I believe.

Lord, I believe.
Where ever Jesus went He sparked controversy. The healing of a man blind from birth caused much confusion and debate among the Pharisees. The religious leaders did not want to believe the report of the blind man and desired to scuttle his testimony and deny Jesus the honour of this miracle.

How were your eyes opened? John 9:10

The healing of the blind man astonished everyone. He did not deny the fact that a supernatural occurrence had taken place. He seized the opportunity to testify, to the power of Jesus Christ. Every Believer in Jesus Christ should seize the opportunities presented on a daily basis to declare and proclaim Christ.

Declaring Christ
The blind man did not deny Christ, but stood His ground in the face of the outrage and opposition of the Pharisees. They called Jesus a sinner, but the blind man responded this way: He said, “one thing I know: that though I was blind, now I see.” John 9:25

How many times do we shy away from declaring what Christ has done in the face of hostile unbelief? You must realise that the spiritual eyes of the blind man were yet to be opened, yet he believed . He believed Jesus to be a man of God from his miracle of eyesight. He testified that once he was blind and that now he could see. He honored Jesus and no one would take that testimony from his lips.

John 20:29 says,
“Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”

Do you believe in the son of God? (John 9:35)
The blind man’s testimony resulted in him being accused of being a disciple of Jesus. He was driven out of the temple. The Pharisees considered themselves the superior disciples of Moses and they cast out the formerly blind beggar from the temple.

When Jesus heard that the Pharisees banished him from the temple, Jesus went after him, just like a Shepherd seeks after lost sheep. Christ cares for the outcast, and the lost, He runs after the rejected and draws them close.

Jesus revealed himself to the once blind man as the Son of God to which he believed(v38). Now the formerly blind man had both physical and spiritual eyesight. What a testimony of the work of faith! He was fully convinced. The Bible says and he worshipped the Lord. Christ gives grace to the humble, but He fully resists the proud.

Until the light of Jesus showed up, the blind man sat In blindness and darkness. Christ came as the light of the world to save a people shrouded in darkness. God commands light to shine out of darkness. It is God’s light that shines into our hearts to give understanding (2 Corinthians 4:6). He is revealed to the hearts of men by His Spirit.

The blind receiving sight is a beautiful spiritual picture. Many have physical eyes, but cannot see. May those who desire spiritual eyesight see the glory of the Lord! Amen.

Bearing each other’s burdens.

Bearing each other’s burdens.
When we bear one another’s burdens, we demonstrate the love of Christ. John 13:34;15:12, says that we are to love one another as Christ has loved us. These burdens may come in various forms: family issues, financial issues, moral failure, sickness, distress, trials and tribulations.

Rather than reject our bothers and sisters who are carrying heavy loads, we are to sympathize with them and show empathy. There are those who willfully stay in sinful situations. God does not encourage this, He implores us to pray against and resist sin.

Where there is a crying out, we are to lift up our voices in prayer and carry each other’s burdens. We are to help our weak brothers and sisters who are distressed and stressed out under the weight of that heavy burden.

The law of Christ is that we “love one another.” We are to fulfil God’s command. Therefore, let us be tender and compassionate towards those who have burdens. Let us not condemn those who have fallen from grace, but restore them with love and prayer. Amen.

Have you ever heard the saying, “A fair weather friend?” This is a friend who only shows up when the going is good… On the flip side, there are also friends who will only show up when they hear bad news… They will never celebrate the good things that happen in your life.

A true friend is one who stands by your side at all times. When the times are good this person is there to rejoice and celebrate with you. During the bad times, this person will also be there to walk with you through the rain and wipe your tears. A true friend stands by you at all times, especially when you need them the most.

One could say that it is during the adverse times that you will really know who your true friends are. This is because you will always see crowds of people in good weather.

However, there is One who remains constant whatever the weather. His name is Jesus. He is the closest friend a person can have. He loves at all times (John 13:1). Christ never fails.

Nothing should separate us from the love of God. We are to love Him with all our hearts (Romans 8:35). His love never fails! Share this love with someone today. Have a lovey week.

Unity in the body of Christ.

Ephesians 2-19_Block 24

Unity in the body of Christ.
The distinctions that set Jews and Gentiles apart are gone forever in Christ. The body of Christ is one, there is no more Jew and Gentile.

Regardless of your background, you are adopted into one big family if you belong to Christ.

“So all who put their faith in Christ share the same blessing Abraham received because of his faith.” (Galatians 3:9).

Abraham looked forward to the promised land.

“Abraham was confidently looking forward to a city with eternal foundations, a city designed and built by God.” (Hebrews 11:10).

Certain symbols are used by Paul to show that both Jews and Gentiles belong to a new family. He uses words like City; Family and Building. Jews and Gentiles are no longer in opposite sides of the fence, but fellow citizens. They are no longer foreigners, but members of the same household.

If you are a believer in Christ, regardless of your background, you are a privileged fellow citizen of Christ. The blessings promised to Abraham belong you.

Spiritual Wisdom
Proverbs 4:4b-9 is a summary of David’s instructions to Solomon. To live for the Lord is to get wisdom and understanding, and this is what David desired for his son.

With all Solomon’s Wisdom, He still remembered and repeated the things taught him by his parents. We can see this through His wise sayings in his writings.

Here, wisdom is personified as a woman who is not to be forsaken, but loved. Every Believer in Christ should cherish and hold on to wisdom at all costs. Understanding and discernment come by the Spirit of God.

God gives the ability to choose the spiritual over carnal and the eternal over and above the temporal.

Do not forsake wisdom today, hold onto and love her. Desire discernment and spiritual understanding over carnal understanding.

A mighty man with arrows in his hand

Psalm 127-4_Block 22

A mighty man with arrows in his hand.

Children born in one’s youth are like arrows given to mighty man. He directs them in the way that they should go.

Children by nature will desire to go their own way, however, they must be nurtured and trained in the ways of the Lord.

With direction and guidance, children can be raised up to be mighty warriors, vessels of honour,  to be used by God for His plans and purposes. Amen.

Heritage and Reward

The Heritage and reward of the Lord.

Whether by natural birth or adoption, you and I have something great to pass on to future generations. A person can raise up Children and generations of children’s children who are not his or her own by birth for the glory of the Lord.

What is the point of building an Great Empire or Legacy if it just ends with you?

“Except the Lord build the house, they labor in vain that build it.” – Psalm 127:1

To have the mind of Christ is to build in view of the future.

God builds generationally and this is why He says, “Children are a heritage.” As I mentioned earlier, God can use absolutely anyone to leave that which will remain for future generations…

The fruit of the womb is His reward. Children are not a burden, they are a blessing and an inheritance Psalm 127:3 describes them as a reward. The children God gives, whether by natural birth or (in whatever capacity God pleases), demonstrate the favour and blessings of God. It is an awesome privilege. It is a good thing to bless others with what God has blessed you with.

Children, in whatever way it has pleased the Lord bring them to you, are a gift from God. It is God who has enabled you to have them. God gives Unmerited favour which cannot be earned. It is a reward of grace.

God is a God of promise and covenant. He is all encompassing and full of consolation and comfort. He is also a God of divine providence. . .

Isaiah 41-10 _Classic 38

The Lord has promised to be with you always, so you are not to be afraid according Isaiah 41:10. Do not be dismayed, let your heart be strengthened. The enemy shall not prevail against you because God’s power is tremendously stronger. God is all powerful and wiser than any strategy or stratagems of the enemy.

God’s power works best when you are weak. God will strengthen you. You need can depend on God’s strength. God will help you. The Ancient of Days parted the Red Sea and He still performs miraculous wonders today. When you trip over, He will prevent you from falling down, He will bear you up. Even if you do fall or fail, His grace will pick you up again.

The right hand of the Lord is a symbol of His strength. To uphold means to standby, vindicate, assist, back, confirm and defend. Do not worry, the Lord is on your side. He will hold both your hands with His mighty hands and lead you out in His righteousness. Amen

Matthew 7-14_Block 5

Sixteen years ago, I read a book called, “The Narrow Gate and the Heavenly Footman” by John Bunyan. There are some books that not only make an impact, they  transform your life. The effect of this book was so powerful that I ordered whole boxes of these books and started blessing people with them. I will admit, it changed my way of thinking, and till today, it is one of my most treasured books. If you don’t have one, I recommend you buy a copy of this book. You will be blessed.

John Bunyan’s book talks about the trials and difficulties the Christian will encounter along the way as they go through life. It’s one thing saying you have Faith in Christ, it is another thing to endure and have Faith that perseveres right to the very end of your existence here on earth.

“Strive to enter through the narrow gate, for many, I say will seek to enter and will not be able.” (Luke 13:24).

Luke 13:24 was once a scripture that I read without fully understanding its implications. Think about it deeply…what should come first to your  mind is the gate of Heaven. Not every one can enter a gated mansion, Selah… it is not a free for all walk in to this grand estate. Many mansions have wide gates, but scripture describes this gate as very narrow. This is unusual in the natural sense as you would expect a glorious mansion to have a very huge and wide gate.

You can only enter a gate when it is open, you cannot do so when it is shut. There are times and seasons on God’s calendar and the Christian must recognise this. According to scripture, many will seek to enter this gate when the time to enter this gate has passed! This is a daunting, yet shocking reality.

Christ is the door that leads to Heaven. Psalm 118:19 says, “Open to me the gates of righteousness. The next verse says, “This is the gate of the Lord.” This gate is the gate through which all the righteous shall enter. There is no other way or route to get to Heaven. The hour of Christ’s return is unknown, so I implore you brothers and sisters, to be ready and waiting, just like the wise virgins, in this Day of Grace. (Matthew 24:44). When the door is shut it will be too late.

I have two extra copies of the book, “The Narrow Gate and the Heavenly Footman” that I would like to give out to you dear reader. If you would like one of them, please send an email requesting this to :
