Humility, Mercy, Grace, Love and Compassion by Ruth Dickson

Humility, Mercy, Grace, Love and Compassion by Ruth Dickson.

Naomi set out to Bethlehem with Ruth and Oprah, but Naomi decided along the way, it would be selfish and inconsiderate to take Ruth and Orpah with her.

While Oprah turned back, Ruth made the ultimate choice to proceed on that perilous journey with Naomi. Ruth trusted God, as only God could determine their fate. Naomi and Ruth could have been duped, mobbed, robbed or even raped along the way.

What influenced Ruth’s decision? I believe it was the work of the Holy Spirit. Her determination to stick by Naomi, a vulnerable woman, in a defenceless situation, speaks volumes about her nature and character. Ruth took care of Naomi, with such humility, love and compassion. Ruth risked her life, going into the fields, in a strange land, with strange people, to provide food and sustenance for Naomi. God protected and took care of her.

Just like Ruth, many have left homes, wealth, family, vocations, what they desired the most, for what God desired. Just like Ruth, some of you have tended to God’s work, under harsh and inconceivable conditions.

It was God’s desire for Ruth to take care of Naomi, for a much greater purpose than she could see or even imagine. God gave Ruth the resilience and strength of character to do it.

What has God asked you to do today? Is the road treacherous? Is the way hard? Is the decision difficult?

To be United in Christ is to get into unity with God’s given plan and purpose for your life and destiny. To be United in Christ is to receive, BY FAITH, God’s desire for you, knowing and believing, God knows what is best for your life.

Trust in the Living God today. Go ahead, with boldness and do what God wants you to do. If this has blessed you, go ahead and share it. Kindly acknowledge source.

In the Face of Righteousness by Ruth Dickson

The Spirit of the Lord is the revealer Truth. He changes hearts, changes ideologies, changes mindsets, in opposition to His mindset, enabling them to conform to HIS.

Concepts, ideas and ideologies soaked and dripping in idolatry and worldliness are demolished and become rubble, in the face of God’s righteousness

God’s Pillar of Grace by Ruth Dickson

God’s Pillar of Grace:

The Bible gives us every reassurance of God’s faithfulness. As God’s people travelled through Wilderness and Desert lands, His Spirit never left them.

In your wilderness, be comforted, the Lord is with you. God’s Pillar of Grace goes before you. In the valley, you are not alone. On the mountain top, the Lord is with you. In the crooked places, He is the light that shines, and breaks through, leading to a straight path. The Lord makes those rough and hard places smooth. He is the Way Maker.

The Lord will see you through your wilderness and desert place, leading you every step of the way. Be comforted with God’s presence along the way. God will never leave or forsake you. He will order your steps by His Word. Amen.

VICTORY OVER SIN by Ruth Dickson

Victory Over Sin

The work of Christ goes beyond any mental or written acknowledgment. It runs much deeper. It deals with the issue of SIN.

Sold Out:

Who on earth could redeem this world and deliver souls from the dominion and control of the Devil. The situation needed a Redeemer. The unregenerate, sinful condition of the human heart, without the power in the blood, remains the same.

The Physician of the Soul:

Grace breaks the sorrow of the human heart. Only God can wipe away the wounds of the heart, and heal it. Jesus Christ is the healer of the wounded heart. He purchased this healing on the Cross.

The Messenger of Comfort:

The Lord Comforts all who mourn in Zion. He goes up to the highways and down to the byways, bringing consolation and joy. What can compete with or compare to God’s Spirit? “Oh how favoured are those who have the Spirit of God upon them.” – Charles Spurgeon.

Christ Evidently Gives Beauty for Ashes:

In the midst of a storm, who gives peace of body, mind and soul? There is beauty in the peace of God. This world’s gear and cosmetics, bear no comparison to the beauty of the Lord.

Clothed in Garments of Salvation:

God’s people wear Crowns of Glory. They are are clothed with Garments of Salvation and covered in Robes of Righteousness. These beautiful spotless robes, prepared in God’s Holy sanctuary, reveal the Holiness and Sovereignty of God. Satan has no control over it.

The beautiful Bride of Christ, will appear before the BrideGroom, ready and prepared. Not in filthy robes, but adorned with imputed Robes of Righteousness. The glory of this, belongs to Christ alone!

Rejoice and again, I say, Rejoice. The nations are Christ’s inheritance, the whole earth His possession.

Death and Life by Ruth Dickson

A Picture of Death and Life.

Multitudes assembled from both near and far to listen to the message John the Baptist preached. Within the gatherings of the multitudes, were those who believed John the Baptist’s message. They desired a change of heart. Yet, there were others; Pharisees and Saducees, with hardened hearts. John the Baptist described them as a “Brood of Vipers”. These religious leaders were confident and self-absorbed with ceremonial and external performances. They presumed they had no need of repentance and preparation because of their father, Abraham. In their hearts and minds they were deceived; believing they were above the law; faultless and sinless. In trying to keep up with outward obedience to rules and regulations, they missed the inward change of heart that God desired.

Today in the Church, Repentance; a change of heart; to turn away from sin, is a much hated word.

The Forerunner:

John the Baptist can be described as one who knew his purpose and call. He emerged from the deserts of the wilderness to bring about change. He pointed to Christ. Like a bridge, he lay himself down between the Old Testament and the New. Jesus walked across this bridge, into prepared hearts, ready to receive Him.

John Prepared the Way:

John the Baptist, “Prepared the way of the Lord.” As prophesied by Malachi, he would come in the Spirit of Elijah (Malachi 4:5-6). John spoke boldly, challenging people’s hearts, minds and way of living, calling them to repent for the forgiveness of sins.

A Symbol of Cleansing:

Water cleanses, washes, it purifies. The work of Baptism involves immersion. It also involves the coming up, emerging, from that place of immersion. Baptism symbolises the old being washed away and emergence of the new. It mirrors the death of the old man and the emergence of the new man.

A New Creation in Christ:

God is calling His children to come out of their old ways and embrace the new. Just like in the days of old, God is raising up voices to speak boldly, without fear. God used Noah to “Prepare” the Ark, but the people would not listen. God used John the Baptist to “Prepare the Way” and many believed, repented and turned away from their old ways, while others did not. The voice of John the Baptist is being echoed by the servants of God today 🗣 Christ is coming soon!

The Winnowing Fan:

By the power of the Holy Spirit, God is calling His people to turn away from their sinful ways. Christ is coming again. Like a winnowing fan, He will separate the Chaff from the Wheat. He will separate Goats from Sheep.

Are You “Prepared” Brethren?

Christ is knocking at the Door, the gates are open. Through Christ’s Death and Resurrection, He has given New Life.

Anyone in Christ is a new creation. The Old has passed away. Behold, the new has come! (2 Corinthians 5:17). Christ has prepared the WAY. Christ is the Highway of Holiness, prepared for those who walk in the WAY. (Isaiah 35:8, Romans 6:22).

Make Straight The Way of The Lord:

Christ has removed every stumbling block. He has demolished every obstacle by filling up the valleys, pulling down the high places, making the crooked places straight and removing the stones to make those rough, hard places smooth.. Abide in God’s presence. Prepare by faith. The Lord is coming soon.

The Unmissable Fragrance of the Lily of the Valleys by Ruth Dickson

Christ the Lily of Valleys

The Lily grows in the most unexpected places. It can be found in dark places. In the depth of the Valley is where this delicate flower flourishes. It is a flower amongst flowers, as its fragrance permeates any environment it is found. It is a flower of purity, found in the most rough and inhospitable terrains.

Christ is the Lily of Valleys. He is the brightness of this dark world. Found in the deepest of Valleys, He brings beauty and warmth, to ugly and cold places. The fragrance of Christ’s presence is delightful. It touches the untouchable, giving them an unmissable divine and heavenly aroma.

The Glory of God.

In the face of Christ, is the glory of God. His power, reaches the depths of the earth. Christ gathers those on the fringes of society: the poor, the weak, widow, the fatherless, the meek, the weary, the lonely, the downcast. There is no one God’s Spirit cannot reach.

Anyone who trusts in Christ will never be put to shame. Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.

The Lesson of the Fig Tree written by Ruth Dickson

The Lesson of the Fig Tree

Looking at scripture, you will notice Jesus often use the imagery of a Fig Tree in His teaching. In the beginning, Adam and Eve used the leaves of a Fig Tree to cover their nakedness, once they discovered they were naked.  Fig Trees were  said to be awaiting the children of Israel who would enter the good land God had promised.  Fig trees were seen as a symbol of communal safety, wealth and prosperity during King Solomon’s reign.

In the New Testament, Fig Trees were often used to symbolise Judgement. Jesus used apocalyptical language to warn His followers  about coming events, many of His prophecies took place after His death, however there were many events Jesus spoke about that are yet to come.

The Fig Tree in the  Bud.

Jesus used the symbol of the  Fig Tree while teaching on the Mount of Olives as an illustration.  Fig Trees produce a nutritious fruit mainly eaten in the Middle East and Asia.  Jesus knew it was a Fruit His listeners looked forward to eating, so they would identify with this concept the budding fruit.  It was a symbol of goodness, it was a crop enjoyed, it was definitely a fruit every family in Israel  looked forward to eating.

Jesus is warning His people to recognise the coming of His Kingdom. If you see a fruit bearing tree start budding, you become expectant because you know something is about to happen; you look forward to the Harvest. As of today, the 21st of May 2020, Christ’s followers are still watching and waiting….looking  to pointers that indicate His coming soon…

There are many signs that a storm is brewing; that something is amiss… but let us not  be deceived, jump to conclusions or become tired of waiting. Rather, let us stay in tune with the Spirit of God. Be attentive, be alert, watch and wait.

Preparedness

The  sign of the budding Fig Tree is used by Jesus to point to the fact that, “summer is near.”  Christians be prepared. Truly, summer is near.  Jesus warned His  followers, as He warns His followers this hour: there will be an upsurge of the preaching of the gospel, but with it will come diverse persecutions, many will fall away and  false prophets will arise.

True followers of Christ are not to be moved by any of these things, but pray for the grace and faith  to complete the Journey.  Yes, Christ is knocking at the door and we must be ready and prepared… tbc

An appeasement made on your behalf…

Righteous Advocate, Propitiation for our sins.

In His mercy and Grace, God provided a way out, a way of Salvation for a world He created. According to His plan and purpose, He had to redeem a people He loved, but they were separated from Him by Sin.

We have a High Priest, Christ our Saviour, who continually intercedes for us. Even when we make mistakes, according to God’s Faithfulness, He forgives us of our sins. Christ our Righteous Advocate, makes Propitiation, appeasing God’s wrath and anger, on our behalf.

The Ultimate Sacrifice, Christ the Son of God, still speaks for us today. This is how the Father has demonstrated His love to guilty sinners. All those who believe in Christ, will live and reign with Him, eternally. Hallelujah.

Do you recognise Christ? Written by Ruth Dickson.

Do you Recognise Christ?

Before Jesus Christ came to earth, many Prophets spoke about Him. The Prophet Isaiah spoke about the birth of a ruler who would be the Prince of Peace.

Zechariah spoke in glorious terms of a coming King who would ride triumphantly into Israel. Many who read the scriptures and listened to the Prophets believed every account of this coming Messianic King.

Generations of people died in expectation of this Promise. Many died in faith, without seeing its fulfilment.

Jesus riding triumphantly into Jerusalem on a Donkey was the fulfilment of Prophecy. Multitudes swarmed around Jesus, waving branches of Palm trees with shouts of Hosanah. ( John 12:1-15). Among the crowds, were those who genuinely believed and others who just got excited, but did not truly believe. Even the disciples did not believe at first, until they remembered the things written about Christ in the scriptures (John 12:16). Jesus wept over the condition of their hearts. They did not recognise Him. Among those who rejoiced with Jesus and called Him King would be those who would later assemble to betray Him.

How many people read the scriptures, listen to sermons and display the external signs of being a follower of Jesus, but do not know Christ? They have no genuine faith in their hearts. They mingle with other Christians, however, with a heart of total unbelief.

Christ is coming again, just like the Bible has promised. Do you believe this? Do you have faith in Him? Christ is the King of the heart who truly examines the condition of it.

When Christ returns may He find lamps ablaze with hearts ready, expectantly waiting for Him ( Matthew 25:1-13) Amen.
