Humility, Mercy, Grace, Love and Compassion by Ruth Dickson

Humility, Mercy, Grace, Love and Compassion by Ruth Dickson.

Naomi set out to Bethlehem with Ruth and Oprah, but Naomi decided along the way, it would be selfish and inconsiderate to take Ruth and Orpah with her.

While Oprah turned back, Ruth made the ultimate choice to proceed on that perilous journey with Naomi. Ruth trusted God, as only God could determine their fate. Naomi and Ruth could have been duped, mobbed, robbed or even raped along the way.

What influenced Ruth’s decision? I believe it was the work of the Holy Spirit. Her determination to stick by Naomi, a vulnerable woman, in a defenceless situation, speaks volumes about her nature and character. Ruth took care of Naomi, with such humility, love and compassion. Ruth risked her life, going into the fields, in a strange land, with strange people, to provide food and sustenance for Naomi. God protected and took care of her.

Just like Ruth, many have left homes, wealth, family, vocations, what they desired the most, for what God desired. Just like Ruth, some of you have tended to God’s work, under harsh and inconceivable conditions.

It was God’s desire for Ruth to take care of Naomi, for a much greater purpose than she could see or even imagine. God gave Ruth the resilience and strength of character to do it.

What has God asked you to do today? Is the road treacherous? Is the way hard? Is the decision difficult?

To be United in Christ is to get into unity with God’s given plan and purpose for your life and destiny. To be United in Christ is to receive, BY FAITH, God’s desire for you, knowing and believing, God knows what is best for your life.

Trust in the Living God today. Go ahead, with boldness and do what God wants you to do. If this has blessed you, go ahead and share it. Kindly acknowledge source.

Praying in times of Distress written by Ruth Dickson

“My Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as you will.” Matthew 26:39

Jesus Prayed at Gethsemane:

Jesus remembered you when He prayed to the Father at Gethsemane.  Though Jesus was very sorrowful and troubled in His spirit, He faced the burden placed on His shoulders with Prayer.

The guilt and sin of this world  imputed to Jesus, weighed heavy on His shoulders. Jesus went through so much agony in His soul, yet He was resolute  not to turn back from God’s will.  He would not shrink back. Jesus prayed for support and strength.

Praying in times of trouble:

Whenever satan tries to fill your heart with sorrow, remember the “Man of Sorrows,” our Lord Jesus,  has passionately prayed for you.  He has paid the price for you.  The trouble of the  past is neither your portion or future, remember Christ wept for you. He took away the burden of sin from you.

The Holy Spirit with you:

Jesus prayed whenever He was grieved in spirit, you should pray also. The Holy Spirit is the Comforter and Jesus has promised His presence to all who believe in Him, at all times.  You  are not alone, but have the Holy Spirit to encourage strengthen and support you, every step of the way. (John 14:15-16).

Do you recognise Christ? Written by Ruth Dickson.

Do you Recognise Christ?

Before Jesus Christ came to earth, many Prophets spoke about Him. The Prophet Isaiah spoke about the birth of a ruler who would be the Prince of Peace.

Zechariah spoke in glorious terms of a coming King who would ride triumphantly into Israel. Many who read the scriptures and listened to the Prophets believed every account of this coming Messianic King.

Generations of people died in expectation of this Promise. Many died in faith, without seeing its fulfilment.

Jesus riding triumphantly into Jerusalem on a Donkey was the fulfilment of Prophecy. Multitudes swarmed around Jesus, waving branches of Palm trees with shouts of Hosanah. ( John 12:1-15). Among the crowds, were those who genuinely believed and others who just got excited, but did not truly believe. Even the disciples did not believe at first, until they remembered the things written about Christ in the scriptures (John 12:16). Jesus wept over the condition of their hearts. They did not recognise Him. Among those who rejoiced with Jesus and called Him King would be those who would later assemble to betray Him.

How many people read the scriptures, listen to sermons and display the external signs of being a follower of Jesus, but do not know Christ? They have no genuine faith in their hearts. They mingle with other Christians, however, with a heart of total unbelief.

Christ is coming again, just like the Bible has promised. Do you believe this? Do you have faith in Him? Christ is the King of the heart who truly examines the condition of it.

When Christ returns may He find lamps ablaze with hearts ready, expectantly waiting for Him ( Matthew 25:1-13) Amen.

BE DESPERATE THIS FEBRUARY written by Ruth Dickson

Are you desperate about God? The word “desperate” means to be bold; dangerous; daring; determined. How bold are you about God? How dangerous is your prayer life? How daring are your plans to seek God this month? How determined are you to see God’s Kingdom established?

To be totally Devoted.

If you are entirely devoted to something, you will prosper in it. Are you devoted towards spiritual matters? What is the condition of your soul?

Your desire to, “seek God’s Kingdom first,” will come from your relationship with the Father. When God’s Word permeates every aspect of your life, serving Him will become your priority.

To know God, desire His will, to glorify Him forever. Let this be your utmost desire. Pursue righteousness. Let the name of Jesus be honoured and glorified in your life.

Do not be “anxious” about this world and its earthly concerns. Have no anxiety about it. Are you not aware that God knows what your needs are? There is a clear distinction between a need and a want. God will never support those “wants” that will destroy you or take you away from Him. He has promised to supply all your “needs” ( Philippians 4:19) according to His riches in glory. God does not base His promises upon falsehood.

I would like to take this opportunity to invite you this February to The New Man Conference taking place in London. Registration Essential.

It shall be a great time of rest, soaking in God’s Word and feasting at God’s table. Please see the details within this write up. Be desperate for God this month.

EVENING PRAYERS: Thursday 12th December 2019

Evening Prayers:

Tonight, let us pray for the men, women, children and babies who suffer abuse.

Let us pray that God in His mercy and compassion will rescue people from all kinds of abuse…

Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. Galatians 5:19-21

🙏Pray that God will open your eyes to the forms of abuse going on around you. In homes, in schools… where ever this abuse is taking place… may it be uncovered in Jesus name.

🙏Pray for children who are kidnapped, especially from African countries, and taken as slaves across borders into Arab countries, be rescued and restored by the power of God. Pray that God will expose the hidden trade slave routes that still exist.

🙏Pray for the mental health of workers who treat victims, and deal with cases of rape daily.

🙏Pray that God will hear the cries of those who pray daily to be rescued from impossible situations, that God will rescue and hide them from the reach and gaze of the enemy.

🙏Pray those with cases of historical abuse receive peace, healing and justice.

🙏Pray God will send His angels to earth, as He did in the days of Sodom and Gomorrah. Pray God will act swiftly.

Morning Prayers Monday 9th December 2019

Morning Prayers

This morning, let us pray for the Sheep in God’s Pasture.

🙏Pray for God’s Sheep, including yourself if you are one. Pray you may not be deficient of God’s Word, that you may be fed sufficiently, as God has promised ( Psalm 23:1).

🙏Pray for God’s Sheep that they may always lie down in Green Pastures. Pray God’s Sheep will always be led to Green Pastures. Pray God’s Sheep be led to the place of Maturity (Psalm 23:2).

🙏Pray for God’s Sheep that they may be led to still waters and restful places as Sheep can not drink from turbulent waters or turbulent places ( Psalm 23:3).

🙏Pray that Christ will take His rightful place in the lives of the Sheep (1 Cor.2:9)

The Perfect King Written by Ruth Dickson

Welcome to the month of December as we celebrate the ONE sought by wise and learned men. Matthew speaks of the men who travelled all the way from the far East, to Jerusalem, in search of this King.

It was prophesied He would bring Justice and Peace on Earth. He would be the guardian of Justice, a mighty protector of the weak and the saviour of souls.

Matthew describes Him as a true King with a name that would last forever. To Him there would be no comparison, as Herod was a false imposter of a king.

Those who are truly wise run after; seek the audience; pursue the “True King”: our precious Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, to whom there is no comparison.

Please share this post.

Redemption and Deliverance

Redemption and Deliverance

The Prophet Isaiah brought a strong message of Redemption and Deliverance to Israel at a time they needed it the most.

The Word of God still speaks to His Church; His people today. Isaiah 40:31 encourages us not to depend on our own strength, but fully rely on the power of God’s might. He is a God who never gets tired or weary, He is the great defender.

Eagles are used here as a beautiful illustration, because they are distinct amongst God’s creation. They have sharp vision and see predators at a distance, Eagles protect their young. Eagles stay clear of the raging storms, they rise above it. Those who trust in the Living God are just like this Eagle, they soar above the winds, they run and never grow weary, they walk and do not faint.

1 John 2:15

Do believe in what God has promised? To “straddle the fence” in this context, means that you have no firm position in what you believe.

The way you live your life on this earth is a true reflection of what you believe. Remember, this world is not your home…you are just passing through.

Do Not Love the World

“For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. 17 And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.”
