Do you recognise Christ? Written by Ruth Dickson.

Do you Recognise Christ?

Before Jesus Christ came to earth, many Prophets spoke about Him. The Prophet Isaiah spoke about the birth of a ruler who would be the Prince of Peace.

Zechariah spoke in glorious terms of a coming King who would ride triumphantly into Israel. Many who read the scriptures and listened to the Prophets believed every account of this coming Messianic King.

Generations of people died in expectation of this Promise. Many died in faith, without seeing its fulfilment.

Jesus riding triumphantly into Jerusalem on a Donkey was the fulfilment of Prophecy. Multitudes swarmed around Jesus, waving branches of Palm trees with shouts of Hosanah. ( John 12:1-15). Among the crowds, were those who genuinely believed and others who just got excited, but did not truly believe. Even the disciples did not believe at first, until they remembered the things written about Christ in the scriptures (John 12:16). Jesus wept over the condition of their hearts. They did not recognise Him. Among those who rejoiced with Jesus and called Him King would be those who would later assemble to betray Him.

How many people read the scriptures, listen to sermons and display the external signs of being a follower of Jesus, but do not know Christ? They have no genuine faith in their hearts. They mingle with other Christians, however, with a heart of total unbelief.

Christ is coming again, just like the Bible has promised. Do you believe this? Do you have faith in Him? Christ is the King of the heart who truly examines the condition of it.

When Christ returns may He find lamps ablaze with hearts ready, expectantly waiting for Him ( Matthew 25:1-13) Amen.

Stand Firm and see the Salvation of the Lord. Written by Ruth Dickson.

Stand Firm and see the Salvation of the Lord.

Just like Judah and Jerusalem at the time of war, God is calling His people to – have faith – in Him.

These are challenging times, where Christians are facing battles on many fronts. The multitude of voices, in these times of uncertainty, is a battle in itself. Whose report will you believe? A house divided against itself will not stand. Stand firm. Trust in the Living God.

In the midst of a thousand voices, there is one voice that speaks the truth. It is the voice of the Living God.

“Have faith in Yahweh your God and you will be secure; have faith in His prophets and you will be successful.” 2 Chronicles 20:20

The battle is not yours, but God’s. Do not be afraid. Trust in the Living God.

Consolation in God’s Word

David’s lifetime on earth was breathed and lived through the Torah, it was the Word of God, written down on tablets of stone by Moses.

It is clear from Psalm 119 and indeed, all of David’s letters to God, that God’s Word was David’s strength.

David cherished God’s presence. Do you? Do you take time to reflect on what God has done. Do you delight yourself in God’s perfect plan for creation?

Take time to meditate on God’s Word, you will find great consolation in it?

The Vine Dresser by Ruth Dickson.

The Vinedresser

A Vine presents a beautiful picture because it has strong roots. A Vine is sturdy with many healthy branches attached to it. If any of the branches fall off, it soon withers and dies, only the branches that remain on the Vine remain strong and healthy. When a Vine becomes overgrown, unkempt and unruly, the Vinedresser will cut it back, so it can grow beautifully again.

The Pruning Instrument.
Christ can use any instrument in this world to prune you. Great trials, illness, misfortune, lack, imprisonment, bereavement… just to name a few. This may seem pretty harsh and really hard to understand or even accept, but you must remember, Romans 8:28 says,

And we know for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to His purpose.”

The whole earth belongs to God and He will do whatever it takes to disentangle you from this sinful world and its worldliness. This is truly an act of God’s Love: the point is that the pruning instrument will drive you to search for God. Only good things can happen to the person who seeks a closer relationship with God. Strong roots in Christ can never wither.

The Light of God written by Ruth Dickson

The Light of God.

Anyone who has the mind of God, undoubtedly has the mind of Christ. The Light of God, in all its ramifications, is “inaccessible” …meaning you cannot approach this light without Jesus Christ.

You need Christ, the mediator.

“At that time Jesus answered and said, “I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent and have revealed them to babes. Even so, Father, for so it seemed good in Your sight. All things have been delivered to Me by My Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father. Nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and the one to whom the Son wills to reveal Him.”

Christ waits with open arms to give you divine understanding.

Morning Prayers: Monday 16th Of December 2020

Morning Prayer:

This is the Season of Peace. Let us remember Our Lord Jesus Christ’s sorrowful passion towards those weak in faith.

🙏Let us pray for all who face complex situations and trials, they may not waiver in their faith.

Psalm 9:10 says,

And those who know your name put their trust in you, for you, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek you.

🙏Commit into the Lord’s hands anyone you know facing a trial in this season, remembering our gracious Lord’s sorrowful passion, in bearing our burdens, pain and sorrow upon His shoulders, and bringing peace to this earth.

🙏Let us pray for the faith of our leaders who trust in the Living God, that their faith will not fail in the time of trouble. James 1:3

🙏Pray for Christians who are wavering in their faith, to have complete confidence in the Living God. What will separate them from the love of God? Nothing. Romans 8:38-39.

🙏Pray for God’s sorrowful passion to be released over His people and the whole world in this dark hour. Many hearts are faint, as they watch and wait, for Christ’s return. Let us remind Almighty God, the Sovereign One, of His love and compassion for this world this dark hour. John 3:16.

EVENING PRAYERS: Thursday 12th December 2019

Evening Prayers:

Tonight, let us pray for the men, women, children and babies who suffer abuse.

Let us pray that God in His mercy and compassion will rescue people from all kinds of abuse…

Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. Galatians 5:19-21

🙏Pray that God will open your eyes to the forms of abuse going on around you. In homes, in schools… where ever this abuse is taking place… may it be uncovered in Jesus name.

🙏Pray for children who are kidnapped, especially from African countries, and taken as slaves across borders into Arab countries, be rescued and restored by the power of God. Pray that God will expose the hidden trade slave routes that still exist.

🙏Pray for the mental health of workers who treat victims, and deal with cases of rape daily.

🙏Pray that God will hear the cries of those who pray daily to be rescued from impossible situations, that God will rescue and hide them from the reach and gaze of the enemy.

🙏Pray those with cases of historical abuse receive peace, healing and justice.

🙏Pray God will send His angels to earth, as He did in the days of Sodom and Gomorrah. Pray God will act swiftly.

Filled with the Holy Spirit written by Ruth Dickson

Filled With the Holy Spirit

At the sound of Mary’s voice, the baby in Elizabeth’s womb leaped and became filled with the Holy Spirit.

When the Holy Spirit comes upon you, it fills you, taking over your whole life and passion, for God’s glory and honour.

The sign of how John the Baptist would live his life was evident the moment the Holy Spirit stepped into the room….

🙏Let us pray, in these last days, the glory of the Lord will fall upon us, in a new way, and do great and mighty things. Amen.

Christ came to earth with a purpose, His Mission was divine. It was foretold; foreshadowed in scripture.

All scripture concerning Christ is fulfilled: His Birth; His sufferings; His resurrection: the preaching of His message from Jerusalem, to the ends of the earth.

If you are a true disciple of Jesus Christ, you have been given the authority and commission, by Christ Himself, to preach about Him.

The Command to share the Gospel.

True disciples are commanded by Christ to be a genuine witness of the Gospel He preached (Luke 24:48): To preach repentance and the remission of sins to all nations in His name.

Christ’s promises are settled in Heaven. He has promised to be with you always (Matthew 28:20).

Therefore go boldly into to the world today with this divine commission. Amen

God’s Word Will Never Lose Its Power: written by Ruth Dickson

Luke wrote with authority when he narrated Angel Gabriel’s words in Luke 1:37. These words were not unfamiliar to biblical scholars of the day, as the Spirit of God had already spoken this in times past: Genesis 18:4; Job 10:13; Job 42:2;Jeremiah 32:27.

God will do what He has already purposed and proposed to do in His heart (Zechariah 8:6). The New Testament writers concurred, reported and affirmed God’s power: Mark 10:27; Luke 18:27.

There are literary parallels of prophecy and angelic proclamations throughout scripture. This pattern of scripture writing is intentional, truly reaffirming God’s Word.

Let us be encouraged, the God who spoke in times past is still speaking today, indeed, He speaks into the future. We can declare with all authority and confidence, “For no word from God will ever fail”- Luke 1:37.
