Seek First the Kingdom of God by Ruth Dickson

Seek First the Kingdom of God.

The presence of the Holy Spirit is key in the life of the believer. The influence of the Holy Spirit is evident in the choices the believer makes.

God has promised to supply all the needs of the seekers of His Kingdom. Let God’s desires, be your desires. I pray that you will prioritise what God wants you to prioritise.

If God has entrusted you with the work of His Kingdom, do it with all your heart. Amen

Matthew 6:31 “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

The Crafty, Unjust Steward written by Ruth Dickson

The Crafty, Unjust Steward:

Jesus spoke in Parables to  encourage thought, wisdom and understanding. While Jesus did not commend the dishonesty of the Steward, it is certain Jesus intention is to  show how the children of God, should be wise in preparing for the future.

Parable of the Unjust Steward:

In the Parable of the Dishonest Steward, as the story goes… the Steward knew he was about to be sacked, so he made adequate plans for the future (Luke 16: 1-9).

The Children of God Put to Shame:

God’s people are put to shame by the men and women of this world.. While the godless are swift, clever and crafty in the way they handle their resources, the children of God are often found slow, wasteful and  wanting with the bounty of resources given to them. They place no value on them.

Preparing for Heaven:

How wise are you in preparing for what God has promised? What resources has God placed in your hands for the Kingdom?  The Crafty Steward was wise enough to prepare for the future. He prepared for a time he could not see. How wise are you in preparing for Eternity? Remember there are rewards for faithfulness (Matthew 16:27, Revelation 22:12) and punishment for slothfulness (Luke 12:47-48, Luke 16:11).

A Clear View:

Time and resources spent in view of Eternity, is time and resources spent well. With a clear view of Heaven, you will build God’s Kingdom, using your time, energy and resources to do so.

Possessors of Heaven:

Heaven is a place of Eternal value. If you win souls, you are wise. If you prepare for Heaven, you are wise. If only you have divine vision as a pilgrim, stranger and  sojourner on this earth…

A Free, but Valued Gift:

Eternal life is a gift, you receive  freely. It is a gift of great value. How you live your life  is an indication of your hope, your expectation, and what you believe.  It is a divine privilege to be a child of God, it is an honour to build God’s Kingdom, it is wise to win souls, It is wise to prioritise spiritual matters.

The Kingdom of Heaven is like a treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and covered up. Then in his joy he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field…” Matthew 13:44 Selah

To Know God: Written by Ruth Dickson.

To Know God:
God revealed certain aspects of  himself to the Children of Israel. To them, He performed many miracles. They witnessed, God’s hand  against the Egyptians, as He executed great judgements. God revealed himself as the Healer in Exodus 15:26. He promised to spare the Israelites from what He did to the Egyptians, if they simply obeyed Him.

To David, He revealed His beauty and majesty. Take a walk through the Palms of the Psalms to see the beauty and majesty of God. The Psalms record the dynamics of David’s personal relationship with God  and how God revealed Himself to him.

Today, those in Christ have a better covenant. They have God, in person, to show them the Way. The Old Testament saints looked at God, and despite all He did, they could not see Him clearly, neither could they understand His ways.

All in Christ:
If you know Jesus Christ and submit to His authority in your life, He will show you – clearly – who He is. God has chosen to reveal himself clearly through His Son Jesus CHRIST. He is central to revealing God (John 14:6).

The only way to know the Father is through the Son. The Father, Son and Holy Spirit are co-eternal, they co-exist, in great mystery, majesty and power. God has revealed himself through His Son. Bless the Lord Jesus Christ for all He has done today. He most worthy.

A Glorious Kingdom written by Ruth Dickson

A Glorious Kingdom in Heaven

Colossians 3:1 urges us to “… Seek the things that are above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God.”
He sits in a high and lofty place and all things are under His feet. Christ controls the Universe.

If you are son or daughter of God, look forward to what God has prepared. God  says we should set our “minds on things that are above, not on things that are on this earth.”

God Judges the Earth:

This earth is under His feet. Christ sits in a high and lofty place. He sits on a Royal throne in a Royal Kingdom.
He is a judge and in control of this earth. God says, the Lord will”Shatter Kings on the day of his wrath. He will execute judgement among the nations, filling them with corpses; He will shatter chiefs over the wide earth.” Psalm 110:5-7

Hidden in Christ:

Isn’t it comforting to know that you are hidden in Christ. He is the One who judges this earth? He says, that you are hidden in the shadow of His hand. CHRIST makes petitions at the right hand of God, day and night, on your behalf. God’s right hand is a symbol of His power and might.

The eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him, on those who hope in His steadfast love, that He may deliver their soul from death

and keep them alive in famine (Psalm 33:18-20) Amen.

Watching and Waiting written by Ruth Dickson

Have faith while you watch.

Watching and Waiting
While we are in this earthly building, we watch and wait, patiently, for the Heavenly Building. A better place than temporary earth.

There is a greater hope and expectation in the minds and hearts of God’s people.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart. It will be worth it in the end. You have not waited in vain.

Walk by faith and not by sight,

The Favoured One

The Favoured One

Mary was chosen by God’s sovereignty and grace to be the Mother of the Messiah. She found favour with God.

Humility, faith and obedience are spiritual privileges bestowed in a person’s life by Almighty God. Mary was surrounded by God’s unmerited favour.

God’s plans and purposes are yes and amen. God’s favour is by His Spirit and not the work of human hands.

POSSESSING THE PROMISE

Possessing the Promise

Abraham waited in faith for the promise of God. He waited patiently in a land promised by God as an inheritance to his generation forever. Though he did not obtain Canaan, as a possession, in his life time, he looked on in faith to that greater city, “which has foundations whose builder and maker is God.”

In our time of waiting, we must stand in faith and believe God’s Word. In the eyes of Abraham, God’s Promise was delayed, though he waited years on end, he did not stop believing.

Our faith will be tested while we wait. Abraham had a greater expectation: Heaven! He knew he would surely inherit Heaven, a blessed assurance that superseded any earthly Promise. Heaven will be worth the wait.

Heaven is your Home

Abraham lived by Faith.

By the direction of God, Abram set out from his idolatrous homeland (Genesis 12:1-4) to an unknown destination. He was obedient and travelled by faith. He embraced the promises of God by faith.

From Ur to Canaan

Leaving the place of sin and unbelief, Abram, now Abraham, gave up his past to embrace the future. Isaac and Jacob lived with Abraham in tents, as aliens and strangers. They lived in a land promised them, yet they never possessed it as their own, apart from where Sarah was buried. They were heirs to an earthly Promise never possessed in their life time. They all died with their eyes fixed on that Heavenly city which every Believer in Christ should look to.

Heaven is Your Home.

If you belong to Jesus, this world is not your home. Lift up your eyes to higher ground, there is a better place to come. Trust in the Living God, endure with perseverance and be steadfast. Christ within you is the hope of glory. Grace and Peace to you.

FAITH WITHOUT WORKS IS DEAD

FAITH WITHOUT WORKS IS DEAD. James 2:17

To whom much is given, even much more is expected. Are you among those who do not recognise that the privileges you have are for God’s glory?

Privileges can be wasted, misused and abused when you are not spiritually minded. The carnal Christian is one who is constantly occupied with self.

Faith with no corresponding action, is not living faith, it is dead faith. It is like a tree which does not bear fruit, (described in Matthew 7:19), as a tree only fit to be cut down and thrown into the fire.

The Bible uses figurative speech when it talks about the tree that bears no fruit. In the natural, the person without the evidence of fruit is like this tree…

What does Christ say about this person? (Matthew 7:19).

Let us therefore come boldly before God’s throne of grace: pray for the mind of Christ. Pray that Christ will be a living reality in your life; He is the hope of glory. Christ has given us eternal life freely, He has paid the price, He has given us His all.

REDEMPTION

The blood of Jesus speaks on behalf of a people who have been forgiven. Colossians 1:14

A people made free from sin without the payment of Silver and Gold, but with the shed blood of Jesus Christ. 1 Peter 1:18

Those justified by faith were once enemies with God, but now you are peace with God through Christ’s actions. Romans 5:10

Rejoice, celebrate, throw cart wheels and be glad! Let the celebrations begin.

Happy Easter!
