Do you recognise Christ? Written by Ruth Dickson.

Do you Recognise Christ?

Before Jesus Christ came to earth, many Prophets spoke about Him. The Prophet Isaiah spoke about the birth of a ruler who would be the Prince of Peace.

Zechariah spoke in glorious terms of a coming King who would ride triumphantly into Israel. Many who read the scriptures and listened to the Prophets believed every account of this coming Messianic King.

Generations of people died in expectation of this Promise. Many died in faith, without seeing its fulfilment.

Jesus riding triumphantly into Jerusalem on a Donkey was the fulfilment of Prophecy. Multitudes swarmed around Jesus, waving branches of Palm trees with shouts of Hosanah. ( John 12:1-15). Among the crowds, were those who genuinely believed and others who just got excited, but did not truly believe. Even the disciples did not believe at first, until they remembered the things written about Christ in the scriptures (John 12:16). Jesus wept over the condition of their hearts. They did not recognise Him. Among those who rejoiced with Jesus and called Him King would be those who would later assemble to betray Him.

How many people read the scriptures, listen to sermons and display the external signs of being a follower of Jesus, but do not know Christ? They have no genuine faith in their hearts. They mingle with other Christians, however, with a heart of total unbelief.

Christ is coming again, just like the Bible has promised. Do you believe this? Do you have faith in Him? Christ is the King of the heart who truly examines the condition of it.

When Christ returns may He find lamps ablaze with hearts ready, expectantly waiting for Him ( Matthew 25:1-13) Amen.

Stand Firm and see the Salvation of the Lord. Written by Ruth Dickson.

Stand Firm and see the Salvation of the Lord.

Just like Judah and Jerusalem at the time of war, God is calling His people to – have faith – in Him.

These are challenging times, where Christians are facing battles on many fronts. The multitude of voices, in these times of uncertainty, is a battle in itself. Whose report will you believe? A house divided against itself will not stand. Stand firm. Trust in the Living God.

In the midst of a thousand voices, there is one voice that speaks the truth. It is the voice of the Living God.

“Have faith in Yahweh your God and you will be secure; have faith in His prophets and you will be successful.” 2 Chronicles 20:20

The battle is not yours, but God’s. Do not be afraid. Trust in the Living God.

Justice and Righteousness by Ruth Dickson

He guides them in Justice and also teaches them His Way. Psalm 25:9

The grace of humility, is a beautiful ornament, it adorns the righteous. It is given by the Spirit of God. The Spirit teaches the way of Humility.

The way of “Justice” is God’s way. The humble are given the ability to discern God’s voice. Their thoughts are God’s thoughts and their ways are God’s ways.

The unjust are not so. They are proud, lofty and refuse to do what is right. Their way of thinking is ungodly: the hallmark of those who rebel against God. The rebellious are always wise in their own eyes, and unteachable.

God teaches the humble His own way. The heart of the humble is pliable, soft and ready to receive of the Spirit of God. The humble desire to be taught by God. It is a desire birthed by the Holy Spirit. The humble in heart are divinely led.

Jesus Christ is the living example of Humility. Christ emptied himself completely to become the servant of all. Christ’s body was broken and bruised, bearing the iniquity of all. Christ submitted to this humiliation, making himself the perfect example for us to follow. Christ did this in complete obedience to God’s plan. Christ is our Justice and the way of righteousness.

By the Spirit of God, the children of God walk in obedience.

THE SPIRIT OF GOD – Written by Ruth Dickson

The wisdom and knowledge of Jesus bewildered the teachers in the temple and all who knew Him. It seems they had forgotten the prophecy in Isaiah 11:1-3a.

It was clear the Spirit of God was with Jesus. He did exactly what scripture said He would do: He had “the Spirit of Wisdom and Understanding, the Spirit of Counsel and Power, the Spirit of Knowledge and the Fear of the Lord, which He greatly delighted in.

Such is the portion of those who truly walk with Christ, it is the working of God’s Spirit.

Psalm 119:99-100

I have more understanding than all my teachers, For Your testimonies are my meditation. I understand more than the ancients, Because I keep Your precepts.

The Spirit of the Lord rests upon the shoulders of those who truly believe, fear, love and honour our Saviour Jesus Christ. It is the Spirit of God that rest upon their shoulders and gives divine wisdom and understanding.

EVENING PRAYERS: Thursday 12th December 2019

Evening Prayers:

Tonight, let us pray for the men, women, children and babies who suffer abuse.

Let us pray that God in His mercy and compassion will rescue people from all kinds of abuse…

Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. Galatians 5:19-21

🙏Pray that God will open your eyes to the forms of abuse going on around you. In homes, in schools… where ever this abuse is taking place… may it be uncovered in Jesus name.

🙏Pray for children who are kidnapped, especially from African countries, and taken as slaves across borders into Arab countries, be rescued and restored by the power of God. Pray that God will expose the hidden trade slave routes that still exist.

🙏Pray for the mental health of workers who treat victims, and deal with cases of rape daily.

🙏Pray that God will hear the cries of those who pray daily to be rescued from impossible situations, that God will rescue and hide them from the reach and gaze of the enemy.

🙏Pray those with cases of historical abuse receive peace, healing and justice.

🙏Pray God will send His angels to earth, as He did in the days of Sodom and Gomorrah. Pray God will act swiftly.

Filled with the Holy Spirit written by Ruth Dickson

Filled With the Holy Spirit

At the sound of Mary’s voice, the baby in Elizabeth’s womb leaped and became filled with the Holy Spirit.

When the Holy Spirit comes upon you, it fills you, taking over your whole life and passion, for God’s glory and honour.

The sign of how John the Baptist would live his life was evident the moment the Holy Spirit stepped into the room….

🙏Let us pray, in these last days, the glory of the Lord will fall upon us, in a new way, and do great and mighty things. Amen.

God’s Word Will Never Lose Its Power: written by Ruth Dickson

Luke wrote with authority when he narrated Angel Gabriel’s words in Luke 1:37. These words were not unfamiliar to biblical scholars of the day, as the Spirit of God had already spoken this in times past: Genesis 18:4; Job 10:13; Job 42:2;Jeremiah 32:27.

God will do what He has already purposed and proposed to do in His heart (Zechariah 8:6). The New Testament writers concurred, reported and affirmed God’s power: Mark 10:27; Luke 18:27.

There are literary parallels of prophecy and angelic proclamations throughout scripture. This pattern of scripture writing is intentional, truly reaffirming God’s Word.

Let us be encouraged, the God who spoke in times past is still speaking today, indeed, He speaks into the future. We can declare with all authority and confidence, “For no word from God will ever fail”- Luke 1:37.

Prophecy of the Coming Messaiah

Prophecy of the Coming Messiah.

Prophecy has been given for a reason. The prophecy of a coming Messiah goes as far back as the vision of Daniel, even before the time of David:

I was watching in the night visions,

And behold, (A)One like the Son of Man,

Coming with the clouds of heaven!

He came to the Ancient of Days,

And they brought Him near before Him… (Daniel 7:13,14).

Though in the natural Christ would be connected to David, His reign would be spiritual. Christ would not only come to earth, but rule and reign in a Kingdom established forever.

To know God, we must depend on the Spirit of God.

The Perfect King Written by Ruth Dickson

Welcome to the month of December as we celebrate the ONE sought by wise and learned men. Matthew speaks of the men who travelled all the way from the far East, to Jerusalem, in search of this King.

It was prophesied He would bring Justice and Peace on Earth. He would be the guardian of Justice, a mighty protector of the weak and the saviour of souls.

Matthew describes Him as a true King with a name that would last forever. To Him there would be no comparison, as Herod was a false imposter of a king.

Those who are truly wise run after; seek the audience; pursue the “True King”: our precious Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, to whom there is no comparison.
