Heaven is your Home

Abraham lived by Faith.

By the direction of God, Abram set out from his idolatrous homeland (Genesis 12:1-4) to an unknown destination. He was obedient and travelled by faith. He embraced the promises of God by faith.

From Ur to Canaan

Leaving the place of sin and unbelief, Abram, now Abraham, gave up his past to embrace the future. Isaac and Jacob lived with Abraham in tents, as aliens and strangers. They lived in a land promised them, yet they never possessed it as their own, apart from where Sarah was buried. They were heirs to an earthly Promise never possessed in their life time. They all died with their eyes fixed on that Heavenly city which every Believer in Christ should look to.

Heaven is Your Home.

If you belong to Jesus, this world is not your home. Lift up your eyes to higher ground, there is a better place to come. Trust in the Living God, endure with perseverance and be steadfast. Christ within you is the hope of glory. Grace and Peace to you.

To be in Honour and not know it…

psalm49_20scriptThe afflicted believer and the wealthy sinner

It is possible to go through this world and exit having achieved nothing. A person may have all the wealth of the world, live a self-serving life of covetousness, yet in reality, is like a beast that perishes. Once it is gone, it is forgotten. The soul of a man however, doesn’t go into oblivion, the soul lives on and will one day face the final judgement.

To be in honour and not know it

A man or woman in honour understands his or her purpose. Everything he or she lives for points towards Christ. They have a hope and great expectation of a greater glory to come. They are clothed in royal robes of righteousness, they are draped in honour.

The believer in Christ is never to envy the sinner who lives for the gratification of the flesh and the indulgence of this world. The believer lives for the honour and glory of God. He or she understands they have dominion over worldliness. They belong to a family of believers, they are co-heirs with Christ, the sons and daughters of the Living God, whose worth is far greater than mere silver and gold.

Will you stand JUSTIFIED?

galatians3_26Faith in Jesus Christ
There is a place of justice. Have you ever thought about the day you will stand before the throne of Justice? The Galatians thought they could attain their own righteousness through the works of the Law.

Christ is the fulfilment of the Law. He is the seed of Abraham, and it is through Christ that the promises and blessings of God are received. All you that believe, whether native Jew or Gentile are the children of God, by adoption, through faith in Jesus Christ (John 1:12).

TRUST in the Lord!!!

WeekThe blessedness of TRUST in the Lord
You are absolutely blessed if your trust and confidence is in the Lord. Trust in man, is the complete opposite of trust in the Lord (Jer.17:5-6). The good things God has promised to give you can easily be missed if your trust is in man. Prov.3:5 says, “trust in the Lord with all your heart” and not just part of it.
Trusting in God means walking very closely with Him. He is a lamp to the feet and a light to the path (Psalm 105:109). He is a true friend. He is so close, that He will show you where there is misplaced trust and hope. Psalm 121 talks about looking up to the hills for divine help. The hills here represent a higher place where God can be found.
True prosperity and success can be compared to a tree planted beside a river. It is not affected by drought. Dry seasons make the leaves of a tree lose its colour and fall off. A tree planted by water will send its roots deep into the stream to keep its leaves evergreen. It will still produce fruit in a parched and barren land. The person who trusts God, drinks from Living Water, it is in constant supply.
The righteousness of God gives you right standing before Him. It is by His grace you have been saved, and not by any self-effort. In mercy, He draws you near, even when you have lost your way. He will direct you down the right path.
In humility, repent when you have placed your trust in anything else but the Living God. You can turn around and trust Him completely.
Have a fruitful week!

Right hand; seven stars; sword; sun; strength

Revelation1_16The right hand of the Lord:

The hand that directs the ministers, gives them authority, power and influence on the earth. Without Christ there is no power. The right hand of the Lord always symbolizes strength and power (Psalm 21:8). It represents favour (Psalm 44:3), honour and dignity (Psalm 110:1).

Seven Stars: Seven Churches

The Seven Stars are ministers of the Seven Churches. These Seven Stars are also mentioned in Rev.1:20 and are referred to as Angels. The Angels here are simply messengers. They are sometimes considered guardian Angels, one for each church. Others argue that it refers to the spirit of the Church. The Pastor of a Church brings messages from God to the people, so the Seven Stars can be interpreted as a messengers to the churches, bringing directives from God to the people.

The ministers of the gospel suffer so much opposition, but Christ holds them in His right hand, giving them honour and dignity, instead of dishonour. He surrounds them with favour. Though they go through persecution, His promise is that He will never let them go. Till the very end, He will be there, upholding them (Matthew 28:20).

A sharp two-edged sword

The word of the Lord is described a two-edged sword (Hebrews 4:12). It is sharp enough to penetrate the hardest soul and spirit, joints and marrow. It is a sword of justice against the enemy. It is the sword from the mouth of Christ which overcomes the enemy of our souls. There is a place where there will be no more crying. “He will wipe every tear from their eyes…” Please meditate on Revelation 21: 4.

The Sun shining in its strength

When the sun shines down on earth its light is seen everywhere. It is so powerful that this earth cannot exist without it. In its full glory, you must protect your eyes to look at it. What John saw was so bright, He described it as the “sun shining in his strength.”

10506759_10204795155371964_6859799326173176758_oA call to repentance
The self-righteous person does not need God. The person who feels their own sense of inadequacy and unworthiness needs a Saviour. He or she needs someone who can make them whole.

The person who has really experienced the saving power of Jesus Christ will desire that others be saved. As much as we share our personal experiences and testimonies, do we desire that our friends and relatives come to the place of repentance? Do we teach them Christ? Do we want them saved? Like Moses said to Hobab, do we say, “Come with us and we will do you good”? (Numbers 10:29). Andrew let his brother Simon know that he had found Christ. The Samaritan woman called all men to see Christ and not herself. She pointed all men to Christ, she said, “Come see a man that told me all that ever I did.” Salvation is not purchased through our personal experiences. Jesus came to save souls.

Are we concerned about the condition of souls, the salvation of our friends and loved ones? Every believer should examine their heart. Do you have a missionary spirit? Are you drawing people to yourself or Christ? Are you concerned about people coming to the place of repentance? The salvation of souls is the chief objective of Christ coming to this earth, even though he was a teacher. It is very easy for the believer to lose sight of this principal thing.

Let this be firmly placed in our minds that our personal experiences and how we got over them cannot save a soul. Self righteousness cannot save, only Jesus saves. Let us lead people to Jesus and nothing else.

“When Jesus heard this, he told them, “Healthy people don’t need a doctor–sick people do. I have come to call not those who think they are righteous, but those who know they are sinners.” (Mark 2:17)

The Sword of the Spirit-Part 1

ephesians-6-1711The Sword of the Spirit – Part 1

A soldier going to war without a sword is like a farmer going to the field without farming equipment. The Sword of the Spirit is essential for the believer to win in battle. Here, Paul is not talking about a physical sword. He is talking about the Word of God. It is the inspired, infallible and inerrant Word of God that defeats and demolishes the wicked one.

The battle belongs to the Lord. We do not fight in our own strength, neither do we fight with physical weapons. It is God who gives us the victory. He is the mighty hand that conquers and defeats the enemy. “They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony (Rev.12:11).
