LOVE YOUR ENEMIES

Love Your Enemies.

All ears must be attentive and hearts wide open to the words of Jesus. Each Word that proceeds from the mouth of Jesus is more precious than diamonds, rubies and Gold.

Jesus Christ says, love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who despitefully use you (without the expectation of reciprocation on this earth). Your reward in in Heaven.

The love you give your enemies is a demonstration of Christ at work in you. Christ in you, the hope of glory. Be an imitator of Christ today. Love your enemies.

Millions of people have been displaced all over the world by these catastrophic events.

These devastations of Biblical proportions have affected over 100,000 people and 24 communities in Benue State Nigeria. Many watched their loved ones float away and drown. Hurricane Irma, a category five hurricane, has affected thousands of lives and threatens Millions of homes across the Caribbean. The Island of Barbuda has been totally demolished. Florida is on high alert, as half a million people flee for their lives, as Hurricane Irma makes its fast approach. Over 41 Million people across South Asia have been affected by floods causing 1,400 deaths over the past few months. Diarrhoea, malaria and dengue fever has afflicted thousands because of the floods. Tropical storm Harvey, in Houston Texas, has forced thousands to flee their homes. 13,000 people were rescued during the storm. According to NASA, the weight of the rainfall in Houston caused the land to physically plummet and sink.

In August, after three days of torrential rainfall, mud-slides buried hundreds alive in Regent, a town on outskirts of Freetown-Sierra Leone, leaving multitudes homeless and some still buried under the mud in their homes. In July, 500,000 people were evacuated in Japan during torrential rains.

Hurricane Irma is on its way to Puerto Rico and Florida, Cuba, Haiti, Dominican Republic, Anguilla, Montserrat, St.Kitts, St. Nevis and the Virgin Islands as I write. These places have been served notice that It approaches.

The whole world has been touched by the news of these torrential floods, hurricanes, tornadoes, mudslides and cyclones, earthquake of Apocalyptic proportions. People are suffering, as households and entire communities have either been wiped out or displaced. Many survivors are mourning their loved ones, others are still looking for missing family members, friends and children. Districts have had their crops for the whole year ruined. Malnutrition and disease are on the rise. Emergency services, Community centres and organisations have been overwhelmed and outstretched with the magnitude of the situation.

As the situation around the world worsens, many Christians globally have been praying and crying out to Heaven for Divine intervention, comfort, healing and restoration for survivors. Churches have opened their doors. Believers have liberally given their time and donated their funds and resources for relief efforts.

The end of the Age:

These floods and rumours of floods point to the time and season we are in and Christian’s every where must watch and pray (Luke 22:36). God has promised within His Word that one day, the earth as we know it, will no longer remain. These “fearful sights and great signs from heaven,” are a picture of what is to come (Luke 21:12). Luke 21:26 says, that people will faint from terror and apprehension because of the fearful signs on the earth.

Every Believer in Christ should be diligent in keeping a Spiritual watch. We must remember that Christ will return unexpectedly. People will be distracted and taken over with the cares of this life, worldliness and covetousness, when Christ returns.

Let us never cease to remind ourselves of the day of Judgement (Psalm 1:5), the Lord is coming soon. Let every Believer tell the world about Salvation in Christ, in this day of grace. Let us pray without ceasing, increasing our desire for holiness and godly living. Let us disentangle ourselves from worldliness. Let us remember to constantly pray for others and the nations of this world.

Today, let us pray for those affected by these recent calamities.

🙏Pray that God will bring hope and comfort to the millions of families and communities devastated by these sudden calamities. (Isaiah 40:1, Psalm 23:4, Psalm 27:1, Psalm 119:76, Psalm 9:9, Psalm 46:1).

🙏Pray for God’s mercy and peace on the earth Isaiah 26:3′ John 14:27, John 16:33, Philippines 4:7, Psalm 6, Psalm 51:1).

🙏Pray that God will protect and deliver your nation, neighbour-hood, family members and friends, from any hidden calamities yet to come on earth. (Psalm 61:2, 2Thessalonians 3:3, John 10:10, Psalm 5:11-12).

🙏Pray that Believers all over the world will take the message of God’s love to those who are suffering and hurting at this time. (John 3:16, Deut.7:9, Psalm 86:15, Psalm 136:26, Zephaniah 3:17).

🙏Pray that through you, many may come to faith in Christ. Pray that those distressed by these recent calamities will have hope and restoration, even in midst of their sadness and sorrow. (1John5:5, 1John5:13, 1Tim.4:12, Gal.3:22, Galatians2:20, John1:12).

🙏Pray for revival on the earth, that many will seek to know God and hunger for His Word. (John 3:16, Col.1:9, John 17:3, Galatians 4:8-9, Ephesians 1:17, Ephesians 3:19, Col. 2:2).

Let us thank God for what He has done already through the emergency services and their workers. Let us thank God for the mercy and loving-kindness that He releases upon the earth every morning. It is only by His grace that we live each day on earth. Only God can intervene in calamitous situations of biblical proportions like this. We must not lose hope, but always pray without ceasing.

Rejoicing over God’s Word

psalm-119-162

What a privilege to rejoice over God’s Word this morning! The Word of God reigns supreme over every form of writing, arts and wisdom of men. God’s Word nourishes the soul. David walked in the fear of the Lord. It was reverential fear of the Lord that made him stand in awe of Him. He embraced God’s Word with great JOY.

David compared His JOY over God’s WORD to one who had fought a long drawn battle and won the VICTORY. He likened it to one enjoying the treasures of victory. The challenges of daily living should make God’s Word even more precious to us. The Word of God is greater than the greatest treasure a person could ever find.

What or who is it that seeks to compete with God’s Name and HIS Word? Christ has engaged in battle for us and given us what it more precious than diamonds, gold or sliver…We can enjoy God’s Word because the battle has been already won for us. However, we must contend for TRUTH and fully understand it. Psalm 119:162 says:

“You have exalted above all things your name and your word.”(ESV)

Let nothing stand between you and God’s Word today. The enemy desires to corrupt your soul, nevertheless, you must rejoice in the full knowledge and understanding that the battle has already been won. Rejoice and again I say, Rejoice!

Eat and drink sweet wine…

Nehemiah8_10This day is holy: REJOICE!
This is a day to celebrate the goodness of God. During the feasts of the trumpets, everyone rejoiced before the Lord. Food and gifts were sent to those who were less fortunate, just like in Deut.16:11, 14; Esther 9:19, Lev. 23:24. It wasn’t a day for anyone to mourn, while others rejoiced. God is calling everyone, regardless of your situation, to rejoice in HIM.

Everyday, every month, every year we live on this earth, is a day to celebrate Christ. In reflection of what Christ has done, we must rejoice daily. The joy of the Lord must continually be our strength and this must reflect in our lives and every thing we do.

Go out today in the joy of the Lord, as God’s Word has prescribed. Let your heart be filled with thankfulness. Let your body and soul be restored with the joy of the Lord. With cheerfulness, give your best to the Lord. With joyfulness, lift up your voice in thanksgiving. Let the joy of the Lord be your strength today and always. Sorrow weakens the body, but joy strengthens it. Has the Lord not been good to you? Rejoice and again I say, REJOICE!!!

TO HIM WHO LOVED US AND WASHED US IN HIS BLOOD (Rev.1:5 -part 3)

revelation1_511In the latter part Rev.1:5 (f), we are reminded of certain truths and Christ’s relationship to us. In His love, He saved us and washed us from our sins. He gave His life for the Church. The love of Christ is everlasting, just as He loved the Church then, He loves it now. Some version of the Bible say, “To Him who has loved us.” The love of the Lord Jesus Christ could be seen as what He accomplished in the past. He certainly loved us in the past, just as He loves us now. His love is everlasting, without beginning and without end. The focus here is not on a past love. It is about His present love, a perpetual and continuous love.

The Church was facing all kinds of obstacles when the Book of Revelation was written. It was a time of suffering, difficulty and trial for the sake of the gospel. The Church went through horrendous experiences, just as it does in this age. In the middle of it all, John reminds the Church of the love of Christ.

Whatever you are going through, the trials you see the body of Christ going through. just remember the constant and continuous love of Christ. His love remains the same through the ages. He will not leave His Church, His glorious bride to suffer alone. He is with her always, even until the very end (Matthew 28:20).

Faith that overcomes the world

scripture01 (1)FAITH THAT OVERCOMES THE WORLD

The world’s system is designed to take you away from God and encapsulate your mind with perishable things. The world holds fast its victims, feeding them with lust, temptation and anything that will drag them away from the spiritual, into the sensual. However, the world has no power over the believer immersed in Christ. When the devil attempts to distract and occupy the believer, the believer will overcome because they believe in Jesus Christ. Anyone who is born of God will overcome the world by faith. Even the weakest believer overcomes by faith.

Jesus fills the soul with such great things about Himself that there is no time for anything else. The temporary things, which are seen, are nothing compared to the things which are not seen, the eternal.

The face of Jesus reflects the brightness of God’s glory. Rejoice and celebrate Jesus today, you overcomer of the world!

COME HEAR!

weekly post 1“Come and hear”

It’s not unusual for a people to rejoice when they hear good news about carnal things. How often do we rejoice about what God has done for the soul? Do we rejoice when we hear a friend, neighbour or family member is completely sold out for Christ?

The ear is the gate way to hear about God’s mercy. Those who understand grace and mercy will truly rejoice when they hear about it. Not everyone can relate to deep spiritual joy, especially when they have never experienced it themselves. Its non appreciation can be compared to casting pearls before swine, it will be trampled down. A life without Christ is a dead life. A person who has been restored to life through Christ has a great testimony.

Every believer should make a special effort to tell others about what God has done for their soul. It is a story that should be told again and again. It is a source of strength and encouragement to those who are weak in the faith.

Call others today to hear about how God restored your life from a dead life. Tell how Jesus saved you from total ruin, the Saviour of your soul.

Draw near to God

4_8This weekend is a brilliant time to “draw near to God.” He is worthy. In His presence is the fullness of joy, favour and blessings. When you seek God first you will see His completeness and sufficiency. It is a place of grace.

The Ancient of Days has been merciful in times past as He is now. To Zechariah He said,

Therefore, say to the people, ‘This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies says: Return to me, and I will return to you, says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.’”

To Malachi He said,

Now return to me, and I will return to you,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.”

We shall see the Lord’s glory when we return to Him. As with Zechariah and Malachi, the the Lord will turn to us in mercy. This is where we see the Lord’s glory. His mercies are new every morning (Lam 3: 22 – 23).

Obedience:

With Him is wisdom, understanding and discretion. We must listen and obey His instructions. He is a God who speaks, but the flesh is so weak. Ephraim loved the blessings of God, but was not prepared to obey His instruction. There are many blessings that come with obedience. Praying for the grace to hear and obey the instructions of Lord is very important.

Call in “truth”

Psalm 145:18 specifically talks about God being near to those who call out to Him in “truth.” One of the attributes of God is His omnipresence. To be omnipresent, means to be everywhere at the same time. He knows and sees all things. To pray in “truth” we must have a pure and sincere heart. He is ever merciful, so we must ask God to cleanse and forgive us of anything the will hinder His Spirit. (Psalm 32:5, James 4:8).

The beauty of the Lord is that His presence comes with a host of blessings. There is nothing God will withhold from those who seek Him. He is a sun and shield, He bestows favour and honour on those whose walk is blameless (Psalm 84:11).

Be encouraged today to seek the Lord. Spend quality time in His presence. Hear instruction and obey the voice of the Lord.

UNOBSCURED

Zecheriah 4-6An unobscured Light in a dark world.

The Spirit of God does a special work in ensuring the light of the Church burns brightly. Like a city set on a hill, it is visible everywhere. A city on an elevated height is prominent. It can be seen from the highest mountain, even the deepest valley.

As a governor, Zerubbabel had the responsibility of rebuilding the temple. It was a daunting task. “Unless the Lord builds a house, the builders labour in vain.” (Psalm 127:1). Zerubbabel would finish the rebuilding of the temple, however, not by human hands.

This is a beautiful illustration for the Church today:

The Church is a witness to the world. Though it faces many challenges and obstructions, it shall prevail, the enemy shall not succeed against it. It shall overcome, not in its own strength, but by the Spirit of the Lord.

The oil that fuels the Church is the Holy Spirit. It is a blazing torch, shining ever brightly, despite the caliginous clouds. Why not join millions of believers world-wide in praying for the Church. God has already made the crooked places straight (Isaiah 45:2).
