Isaac, Joshua, David, and Paul, just to name a few, found solace and joy in the meditating on God’s Word.
Isaac went out into the lonely fields, in the silent of the night to meditate and pray (Genesis 24:63).
Joshua believed in meditating on God’s Word,
“This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.” Joshua 1:8
David started meditating on God at a very tender age. As he walked his fathers sheep through the wilderness, he would contemplate and talk about the nature and character of God. He praise Him all day long. Psalm 119:97 says, O how, I love your law! I meditate on it all day long.
The Apostle Paul said, “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”
The soul that meditates on God’s Word rejoices. Delight in it like David, do it cheerfully. Determine to hide God’s Word in your heart today. (Psalm 119:11).
