The One who completes all things will bring all things to an end. Alpha and Omega are the first and last letters of the Greek Alphabet, just as Aleph and Tau are in the Hebrew alphabet. He existed before time began and shall continue to exist for eternity.

He is the beginning of the Alphabet, the beginning of all things and everything that has come into existence. He is the source.

Everything that has come from Him is created for Him. He is the ultimate purpose for existence and creation. All things that have come and are yet to come, have come through Him. Everything is sustained by Him and everything finds its ultimate purpose in Him.

Romans 11:36 says,

For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen.

The words Christ uses to describe Himself in Rev.1:8 are the same words used in Rev.22:13, Isaiah 41:4, and Isaiah 43:13. Christ describes Himself as being the complete, perfect and eternal revelation of God. He is fully equal to the Father. He is honoured, just as the Father is honoured. He is Omnipotent, Eternal and Immutable. Whatever God has promised is fulfilled in Him.
