2 Corinthians 434.pngOUR GOSPEL IS HIDDEN

If you do not understand, receive and believe the gospel of grace, it is not the fault of the gospel. Neither is it the fault of the preaching. The problem, according to 2 Cor. 4:3-4 starts with you. The gospel of grace is hidden from those with a carnal mind. These are people who are lost, blind and dead with no spiritual perception of the things of God (1 Cor. 2:14,15).

Gone astray

The world is chaotic and full of sin because of the sinful condition of mankind. Every human being has sinned and fallen short of God’s glory (Rom.3:23). All of creation is in a sinful condition because of their birth in Adam. Every human is sinful by nature. A person can only be saved from this sinful condition through Christ. While some will be redeemed by grace, others will be lost for ever, the god of this world, holding them captive, leaving them blind, in a sinful condition.

The god of this world

Deception is what holds people captive. It keeps them blind to the gospel of grace. The “prince of this world,” mentioned in John 12:31; 14:30, is the one who holds them bound. He blinds their minds and understanding. The wicked one holds them in ignorance, penetrating their hearts with everything, but the gospel of grace, preached through Jesus Christ. Pride, prejudice, ignorance and error against the gospel of Jesus Christ are the hallmarks of a person blind to the gospel of grace (Eph.2:1-3).

Darkness and blindness still prevails over those held captive by the god of this world. However, there are a chosen generation of people who will walk free in the gospel of grace. The glorious gospel of will be their banner and shield. They are those to whom the Lord says:

“You have found grace in my sight…I know you by name” (Exodus 33:18, 19)

CHRIST REVEALED

The glory of God is so bright, it shines brilliantly in the lives of those who know Him. They see the glory of God (Exodus 3:18,19). Those who are saved have Christ as their personal Saviour.

Salvation is knowing Christ. Is Christ revealed to you? (Gal.1 :15).
